ABSTRACT:
Within the context of the Ținutul Buzăului Geopark, traditional arts and crafts can become increasingly significant within the economic structure of local communities and society as a whole, as they represent the most accessible way for rural art and culture to become part of everyone’s everyday life. By practising these crafts, people can earn an income and secure jobs. In promoting, supporting and stimulating peasant craft production, rural and eco-tourism can act as a catalyst, because, when it comes to crafts, the tradition must also be profitable, not merely preserved.
