ABSTRACT:
Every local culture reflects how people use a given territory, how communities have interacted with one another, and how people value their local history. This chapter focuses on the sociocultural context of the Buzău Region, located in the northern part of Buzău County, southeast of the Carpathian Mountains. This context emphasizes the region’s unique character, as reflected in its local cultural history. The chapter presents a brief history of how human settlements have developed over time, analysing not only historical events but also the region’s demographics and political influence.
